The Atlanta Braves are taking on Disney at the United States Patent & Trademark Office, where the two companies are fighting over the trademark on the word "Brave".
Disney has been registering different iterations and uses of the word to coincide with their most recent Pixar production, BRAVE, while the MLB team has been using the plural form for almost a century.
The Braves have until January 18th to file papers with the Trademark Trial and Appeals Board to oppose Disney's claim to the name. Sources, however, say, "private negotiations between The Walt Disney Company and the Atlanta National League Ball Club are currently taking place."
Given the fact that the Braves never seem to drop the "s", we're not exactly sure what they want it for, but we can see why they may feel Disney is stomping on their territory.
May the best corporation win!
