You've all seen the Dark Knight Rises trailer, right? Of course you have.
Most of the viewers were blown away by what they saw, but perhaps none so as much as Pittsburgh Steelers' wide receiver Hines Ward, who was almost blown away IN the trailer!
“It blew me away. I mean to be a part of something that will last forever was amazing. I was truly blessed to be a part of it all.”
In the highly anticipated film, Ward is the football player who narrowly escapes death (or at least a few broken bones) as Tom Hardy's Bane commits a devestating act of terrorism and blows up a football field WHILE two teams are playing each other.
For his big screen debut, Ward returns a kickoff for a touchdown as the field collapses behind him. The weirdest part for him, however, wasn't outrunning an explosion, but was returning a kickoff, saying:
“I hadn't run back a kickoff in forever. It was a little bizarre. But I scored on the return and any time I score it's a lot of fun."
We're glad he had a good time filming and are sure Steelers fans will be eager to watch Ward prove he's one of the best players in the NFL — even when he's up against a life-threatening explosion!
