Another Paterno bites the dust at Penn State University.
Jay Paterno, the son of former head coach Joe Paterno, will no longer be a part of the PSU football team.
"After talking with Coach Bill O'Brien, we have reached the conclusion that I will not be a part of the Penn State football staff moving forward. I will spend the next few weeks consulting with my wife and family to weigh various future options both inside and outside of football."
Is this another way of saying the former New England Patriots offensive coordinator fired him?
Maybe O'Brien didn't want any more Paterno left in the program as the college team desperately tries to put the Jerry Sandusky sex scandal behind them.
As far as we know, Jay Paterno had no fault in the scandal (unless he knew about the sex abuse and kept his mouth shut), so we wish him the best in the future and hope he can continue to have a career in football.
