It's a new year and time for a new you, but that means cleaning the old clothing out of your closet!
If you're in the process of losing weight, don't give yourself a safety net by keeping clothes that are now too big for your shrinking body! Diet author and former Biggest Loser host Ajay Rochester gets rid of clothing as soon as she drops a size so she has no choice but to rely on diet and exercise to MAINTAIN that size!
Not a bad strategy, right? Read all about it below!
Multiple Personality Wardrobe Disorder.
Do you have it? I do. I have size 2 clothes I went very hungry to fit into (a very long time ago) all the way through every style and fashion for every ballooning weight range I passed through all the through 10's and 12's all the way to “One size fits all” which I personally know, is a lie. One size does not fit all and having topped the scales at nearly 300 pounds, I should know! I got so fat I no longer wore g strings I needed the whole alphabet!
As I near the pointy end of the show Excess Baggage, starring Kevin Federline, I am getting closer to my goal and I am excited to go through my wardrobe and for the very last time, throw out any “plus” sizes other than those that fit me (which I can happily boast no longer fall into the plus size category). I will no longer live in stretchy sweat pants but will take ownership of my hips and only wear clothes that fit me. As soon as I drop a size those clothes will go to Goodwill and will never grace my wardrobe or my soon to be hot body again. Allowing myself these multiple sizes to shape shift through simply enabled me to let go and grow – literally!
So why not take some time this weekend and do the same. Try on everything in your wardrobe. Decide where you would most like to be size wise, set a healthy eating and exercise plan and get there, getting rid of any excess baggage in the shape of clothes that keep you fat.
