Now this is what we like to hear!
Ray Romano and his wife Anna have NOT let her battle with breast cancer hold them back — and they want to give that feeling and opportunity to others as well!
That's why they decided to do some philanthropic things after her treatment!
"We were blessed and didn't have to worry, 'Does insurance cover this?' We want to give that [peace of mind] to other women."
"There are so many charities, and you want to help every one of them. But this really just gave us a direction."
So they decided on TWO different charities to help — one in NY and the other in LA!
In New York, they're joined with the American-Italian Cancer Foundation. They actually sponsor mobile mammogram vehicles in all five boroughs:
"They'll go into communities where women aren't worrying about themselves. And if people want to go, they can go. If not, they don't have to."
Then, in Los Angeles, they are donating money to the Saban Free Clinic:
"Some women don't fit the criteria to get a free mammogram. I'm going to make sure that little pocket gets covered."
Ray also appeared in a Stand Up to Cancer advertisement last fall after his wife's diagnosis:
"A lot of charities come on my desk, and I try to do as many as I can. But when that came, it's something that's so close to home. We got lucky. But it kind of opens your eyes – so I want to just give back."
It truly is inspirational to see celebrities doing the amount they're doing — and all for really great, really honest reasons. Helping is something everyone should want to do!
We're glad you're better, Anna!
