Much to a lot of people's dismay, Gwyneth Paltrow has become the face of a veggie brand most of you will never get a chance to eat. The GOOP creator and author of My Father's Daughter cookbook, who can't help but encourage others to live a healthier lifestyle, has become the face of SPAR Veggie in Austria.
While it's not unusual for celebs to lend their faces to brands in other countries, people seem to be a little offended that Gwyneth decided to slap her stamp of approval on a brand which is decidedly bad, as one person familiar with the product told sources:
"In terms of quality, Spar is the equivalent of a convenience store attached to a gas station. You might buy gum there, but you wouldn't buy Spar-brand gum, or Spar-brand anything for that matter."
Ha! Well, regardless how some people may feel, Gwyneth obviously didn't think the veggies were THAT bad. In fact, she reportedly said in a statement that, "They are a real healthy alternative if you want to quickly serve something."
The same reason that is making people upset for her decision to endorse the company is the same reason the company wanted her endorsement, as SPAR explained:
"She lives the idea of SPAR Veggie. Gwyneth Paltrow credibly embodies today's modern and health conscious woman, integrating meat-less dishes into her lifestyle, not every day but every now and then."
Well, we won't be tasting this dish anytime soon so we can't care too much if Gwyneth signed the deal based on price or principal. However, if you don't like what the actress has to say about healthy eating, don't listen. Pretty simple really.
