Boxing is a sport that can hurt in more ways than one. A FitPerez reader named Alison is experiencing wrist pain and wrote boxing pro Alex Brenes for advice, asking:
So when I box my wrist sometimes hurts, and the class that I am in is to large to ask for advice – any ideas why my wrist would be hurting?
According to Alex:
The hand, wrist, and some times even elbows and shoulders will bother the first 3 or 4 times. This is because your limbs are not made for the impact of the boxing drills. A good hand wrap and proper technique will make you enjoy your boxing experience like our clients at DeLaBBC do. Make sure that your wraps are long enough to keep your wrist firm and protect your knuckles. If the wrap is too tight will cause alot of discomfort!
