Doctors Recommend All Adults Should Get Their Whooping Cough Shots
The whooping cough could mean serious business.
The Doctors, along with a federal advisory panel, are recommending that all U.S. adults get vaccinated against the whooping cough, particularly those 65 and over.
Since the 1940s, children have been vaccinated for the cough, however the advisory committee has included adults in this group so that the disease doesn't spread to infants, children and pre-teens.
In 2010, 9,000 adults in California alone, were diagnosed with whooping cough with a result of 10 babies dying after exposure to those who were infected.
So, so sad.
The vaccine is simple. It's similar to a regular tetanus booster and is extremely effective. We recommend advising with your doctor during your next check up.
