New Book Alleges John Lennon Was Bulimic, But Yoko Ono Denies Claims

John Lennon Yoko

This is a bombshell insight into one of the world's most beloved musicians!

Pop culture historian Debra Sharon Davis has written a book about John Lennon called BackStage Pass VIP and alleges the Beatles guitarist was bulimic!

She asserts that Lennon was often hungry, but “hated the feeling of being full," so he would often vomit after meals. Check out this excerpt from the book:

“Lennon was confused about his obsession with food. Lennon was surrounded by talented musicians, but many had drinking and drug problems – so it was hard for them to see Lennon’s purging behavior as extraordinary. One must also realize that at that time the public and the media were unaware of bulimia as an addiction and health risk – which made it all the more frightening for John Lennon. He literally had no point-of-reference on what he was experiencing.”

That's definitely inneresting, but his widow disagrees completely. Yoko Ono refuted the book's claims by telling sources:

"John did not have an eating disorder. Sometimes he slipped and ate a bar of chocolate. His diets included (a) vegetarian diet, macrobiotic diet and, very rarely, a juice diet. All of the above are internationally approved health diets."

It's a strong claim to make, but Davis wrote the book "to present the human side of celebrities to the general public" and explains:

“It is meant to empower everyday people to feel better about themselves and their own achievements by realizing that even great, beloved talents like John Lennon were flawed heroes who wrestled with challenges."

We think Yoko knew him best, but the shocking book's author uses sources including one of Lennon's close friends, Harry Nilsson. He recalled one conversation with the music icon by saying:

“John and I were having a heart-to-heart. Then all of a sudden John went off about how powerful men had ravenous appetites and wanted to swallow the world whole. And he thought that was why he had this horrible problem – being hungry all the time and overeating. He said he often fantasized about large quantities of ‘forbidden’ foods.’ He said food was ‘sacred’ to him and it frightened him. He saw it as ‘a great weakness’ and he referred to it as ‘a lack of discipline.’”

Do U think the book is revealing the truth or just trying to get on the New York Times best-seller list?
