George Clooney took a trip to Sudan's Nuba Mountains last week where people have left their home and are living in caves thanks to Omar al-Bashir's constant attacks on their villages along the volatile boarder of Sudan and South Sudan. While visiting with cameras, the actor witnessed 15 bombs hit the caves they were hiding in and the horrifying devastation they caused.
The Descendants star returned to the U.S. more passionate than ever about stopping this humanitarian crisis and testified in front of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday.
Today, Clooney is reportedly meeting with President Obama and Hilary Clinton as he continues to advocate on behalf of the individuals he met in Sudan. He hopes to raise a call to action before the conflict becomes a complete genocide on par with Darfur.
