Dwight Freeney plays for the Indianapolis Colts.
He also employed a couple of financial advisors that wanted to defraud him out of millions! The embezzlement scheme involved millions of dollars, luxury hotels, and a private jet!
Eva D. Weinberg and Michael A. Stern were busted late last week after a lengthy investigation.
Most of the shadiness happened between May 2010 and October 2011, where the duo made $2.2 million in fraudulent transfers from Dwight's accounts to Arms Reach Consulting, which just so happens to be a company controlled by Stern.
So what happened?
Freeney was on his toes — he noticed the fake transfers in 2011, and discovered Weinberg and Stern were dating!
He then immediately called the FBI, which is the smartest move he could make!
So now both of them have been charged with fraud!
Glad you caught onto their scheme, Dwight! That's such a good ending!
