Let's just say right off the bat that quantifying opinion is shaky at best.
Anyway, according to science: Your baby will stop being cute at four and a half years old!
Chinese psychologists and researchers at the University of Toronto asked adults to gauge the attractiveness of children’s faces from infancy to age 6. That sounds wrong, but whatever. We think they meant "cuteness" or "adorability" or something instead of "attractiveness."
Anyway, the results are pretty much what you expect: the participants found younger kids’ faces more likable than those of older children.
So why 4.5??
That’s the age at which “certain crucial infantile facial cues” are no longer very noticeable. Things such as those big eyes and their small noses and mouths.
Those are the cues that make people feel soft and protective, whether or not they're related — which, in evolutionary terms, increases the likelihood of a baby’s survival!
The more you know!
Nice to know when everyone can stop faking those "awwwwwws," according to science.
In other words, just use science as an excuse if you don't wanna see some 5 year old's wallet photos! HA!
