Before we even get into the thick of this we have to say just one thing: How is Anthony Bourdain even remotely as cruel as a continual peddling of the food that gave you diabetes, which Paula Deen kept said diabetes secret for YEARS?
Anyway, this is was Anthony tweeted after her diabetes news came out:
"Thinking of getting into the leg-breaking business, so I can profitably sell crutches later."
He's referring to the fact that she only came forward to help sell a diabetes drug. Which is super shady. We don't see anything wrong with calling that into question.
This is what SHE said:
"My team told me of his statement that I was the most evil dangerous woman in America. I thought, 'Oh my gosh, what hospital did he just get out of?' And I did hear he was going to break his leg to sell crutches, which I thought was awful, because people out there with diabetes haven’t chosen this."
Wait wait wait wait — that doesn't even make sense. He isn't attacking all people with diabetes, he's pointing out that you chose to lead a life/host a show that made food that led to the onset of Type II diabetes. Then you took that health problem and kept it secret so you could keep your viewers, only to reveal it later to peddle some diabetes medication.
Pretty much nobody else has done that, so that's NOT an attack on "people out there with diabetes."
She finished with:
"I thought that was very, very cruel. But I really don’t know nor do I care. I don’t know the man. I’ve never shared a meal with him. Everybody has a right to their own opinion. And I can’t change his opinion, nor would I try. I wish him the best. I just do. I don’t wish anything bad on anybody. I know he’s had his demons, and I hope they’re under control."
Honestly, at this point, we're losing respect by the minute. Especially with this racism and sexual harassment lawsuit that just got slapped on her and her brother.
We've always heard they're notoriously hard to work with — but all these things rolled into one blows our minds!
There's still time to change, Paula!
