This is so beyond horrifying, awful, and tragic.
Piermario Morosini, an Italian soccer star playing for Livorno, collapsed and passed away today during a match against Pescara in front of a crowd of fans after suffering “three cardiac arrests in quick succession.”
Apparently, he had only played for about 30 minutes when he went down, and spectators and teammates alike had to endure paramedics attempt to revive him to no avail with a defibrillator.
Furthermore, as he was being rushed to the hospital, the ambulance in which he was riding was blocked by an unattended traffic police car parked on the grounds, and authorities were forced to break the car window just so it could be moved.
We cannot even imagine how difficult this terrible loss must be for so many, and our thoughts, prayers, and condolences go out to his family, friends, loved ones and fans.
May he R.I.P.
