Here's an easy question: Is it worth it to spend 50 years in jail because you murdered someone over a $40 Super Bowl bet?
Nope! The answer is no! Sorry to all the creepy people who said yes!
The person who DID think it was a brilliant idea, and actually did it, was Clevin Earl Brown, Jr. He's 19, and also a North Texas gang member.
He was charged with murder and engaging in organized criminal activity, and jurors easily ordered 50-year prison terms for each count, with the sentences to be served concurrently.
20-year-old Jarami Thomas was shot and killed in the parking lot of an Arlington convenience store after being ambushed by Brown and several other members of a street gang called Lynch Mob. They promised he'd be able to settle the bet he made via Facebook by fighting one of the members.
What is wrong with kids these days? Why can't the world just be civil??
Act like rational adults!
