Brandon McCarthy, pitcher for the Oakland A's has taken to twitter to condemn a popular 'gay joke' at baseball games.

The 'joke' is when the kiss cam operator points the camera at two 'straight' guys, prompting them to kiss.

This upset McCarthy, so he went to twitter, as so many celebs do, to vent his frustrations, saying:

"They put two guys on the 'Kiss Cam' tonight. What hilarity!! (by hilarity I mean offensive homophobia). Enough with this stupid trend."

After many of his followers began responding less than positively, he wrote:

"@speefmoney so what? I know that isn't the intention, but the implication is that two guys kissing is funny. That's offensive to gay males."

When a user played the devil's advocate and said that what if it was "a genuine cameraman just being fair and equal," McCarthy responded:

"@speefmoney it was two of our players to start. But, you also may have a point there."

He continued:

"@speefmoney so that's why they should stop doing it. Plus, it's cheap shitty comedy so it sucks on that level as well."

It really is just a cheap joke and offensive to certain people.

It's great that a big sports star like himself wasn't afraid to speak his mind in such a public forum.

Way to go, Brandon!
