New York's four public university centers are planning to become national research facilities that will look into "smart energy."
That would be the best thing ever.
Binghamton University wants to build a $70 million energy research facility that would create 150 faculty positions, 175 staff positions and 60 researcher positions.
The whole plan should end up spawning at least 10 different start up businesses. Which is obviously great for the local economy.
State Senate Deputy Majority Leader Thomas Libous said:
"Smart energy is going to look at how to capture the unique form of energy in small cells and how to transfer it."
So hopefully this all happens and we end up with unlimited cell phone batteries.
Please please please make unending batteries.
