The 2012 NFL Draft was last night and the number one draft pick was Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck!
The redshirt junior (which means he was really a 4th year college guy but spent his first year riding the pine pony [the bench] so he could practice with the team for a full year before having to play a game) was considered one of the top QB prospects since Eli Manning!
Luck was actually considered the top pick for the past two season but he surprised everyone when he decided to actually stay at Stanford to play for another season and earn his architecture degree!
That's so amazing that even though he has a full football career ahead of him, he still wanted to get his degree.
But now that he has his degree… is he ready for some FOOTBALL?!
"Anxious to get started. You want to get started, you want to get going. I can't wait. I can't wait to get out there and represent the city to the best of my ability."
We're excited to see what Luck can do for the Colts. He's taking over for Peyton Manning so he's got some pretty big shoes to fill.
Though we're sure the Colts will do just great this year with a little Luck.
