If you're a boxer, you know how important it is to wrap your hands right!
This FitPerezcious Reader needs to know if there's an easier or more appropriate method to doing just that:
Okay so - I am taking a boxing class at the moment, and my wraps are digging in between my fingers! Its killing me and i feel like its causing pain. Can you recommend any great wraps?
Here's what our resident badass and boxing expert, Alex Brenes, has to say:
Wrapping hands is a complicated thing that shouldn't be, wraps are suppose to keep the structure of your hand while you beat the crap out of somebody…. or the bag. I have seen people doing it super tight which causes your hand (bones, tendons, muscles) to get squished and often cause injuries that are not only painful and uncomfortable but hard to heal. Doing it in between the fingers is usually done when you are gonna spar, you may be hitting uneven surfaces (elbows, shoulders and parts of the head) therefore you need your hand to be a solid object. When you hit the bag and wrap in between your fingers, your hand becomes the uneven object hitting the even solid surface(the bag), so you need to make sure your hand is even by wrapping most of the wrap on top of you knuckles and little under you hand , so you can close it, maybe use a little bit of sports tape, we have a couple of videos on our page HERE.
That was important, so we hope all you boxers/readers were reading closely!
