Serena Williams has won the first game she played in the opening of her European season on Madrid Open's lovely blue courts.
She reached the third round in the Madrid Open two years ago and hopefully can go all the way this year.
She just beat Russian Elena Vesnina 6 to 3 then 6 to 1, which is a pretty crushing defeat, having hit 14 aces!
"I was feeling good. It's my first tournament in Europe this year and I just hope I can keep up the good form."
She hasn't lost yet in eight of her games on clay this season. She said:
"I haven't noticed a difference between the blue and the red clay. I think it's the same, it's just you don't get as dirty."
Also we think the blue clay is prettier.
