New York City is unveiling one of their greenest schemes ever… they're launching their bike-sharing program in July.
By next year, it plans on having 10,000 bikes at 600 different docking stations placed around the city.
In the program, people just pay a $95 annual fee and they can ride the blue, 3-speed bikes all they want.
Rides 45 minutes and under are free. They're billed a set rate for longer rides.
Even short term users (tourists) can sign up!
What an amazing and environmentally friendly idea!
Though apparently anyone who has their bike stolen while riding has to pay a $1,000 fine.
That kinda sucks, but at least it's still good for the environment.
The bike riding, not the thievery. LOLz!
