No, this isn't a movie about a man who loses his arm and gets a super fab million dollar robotic arm in its place and becomes the table tennis champion of the universe. Though that movie SHOULD be made.
Jon Hamm, in his infinite beauty, has been tapped by Disney for Million Dolllar Arm — which is about the true story of how sports agent J.B. Bernstein found professional pitchers Rinku Singh and Dinesh Patel (both 19 years old) through a cricket reality show he put on in India (he noticed how similar the pitching was during a late night TV show!)!
Jon is playing J.B.!
Interestingly enough (and one of the reasons why this story is movie-worthy), neither of those players had ever been outside of their village before. They ended up getting contracts with the Pittsburgh Pirates… but not until after they had to learn about American culture and how to speak English from J.B..
Oh yeah, and learn the rules of baseball!
Sounds like a great story! We'll see it!
But honestly we'll see anything with Jon Hamm in it. Let's be real.
