Prepare to have your minds blown: an age old question has been answered!
Connexin43 deficiency tricks the bladder into thinking it's full. It's a part of a bunch of proteins that make up the circadian clock. This is what controls how active things are while we're awake and when to slow them down when we're ready to hit that pillow.
At night, your bladder can store more urine. Simultaneously, you're making less urine as a whole. All of that happens so you get enough sleep!
When there are lower levels of connexin43, the bladder becomes super sensitive to nerve signals that give a feeling of fullness!
While this is a major discovery in that specific problem, it's likely that the connexin43 answer is working in conjunction with other things as well that amplify the issue.
Either way, it'd be cool if this leads to a fix!
