8 Foods With More Sugar Than A Twinkie

We apologize in advance if we ruin any of your favorite foods for you.

It would be a tragedy though, to think you're eating healthy when you're really just cramming yourself full of sugar which is just waiting to turn into fat.

So here is a list of eight foods with more sugar than a Twinkie:

Yogurt (Go Greek. It naturally has less sugar and is all around better for you.)

Tomato Sauce (People tend to use double servings and overindulge on sauce. Portion control is key.)

Granola Bars (Depends on the bar. Don't go for the gooey, chocolaty ones.)

Fat-Free Salad Dressing (When you cut the fat, you cut the flavor, so it's beefed back up with tons of sugar. Which ironically enough turns back into fat once you eat it.)

Muffins (They get bigger and sweeter each year. Stick to minis and watch the portions.)

Canned Fruit (Fruit already has natural sugar so make sure it's canned in water, not syrup.)

Smoothies (There can be many health benefits from tossing only strawberries and ice in a blender but that still doesn't mean it isn't high in sugar. Limit your portion size.)

Cereal (Obviously there's more in Frosted Flakes than there is in Kashi GOLEAN. Also… portions, portions, portions.)

So stay away from those foods — or at least the unhealthy versions of them — and you won't inadvertently be eating full twinkies worth of sugar.
