Fatty Liver Disease Is Rising Among Heavy Teens

Great. First we hear that type 2 diabetes is on the rise amongst obese kids and teens, and now we're hearing that Fatty Liver Disease is ALSO on the rise amongst our heaviest teens!
How much more proof do we need that kids should get moving??
Almost 10 percent of U.S. teens have nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, a largely silent accumulation of fat in their liver cells that puts them at risk for developing later cardiovascular disease and additional liver problems!
But not all is lost if you're a heavy teen with the disease — doctors think it's reversible:
"We think that liver disease is reversible, particularly for a teenager if they can make substantial changes and improve their weight."
The amount of teens with the disease has more than doubled in the past two decades!
Eating healthier and getting more exercise will be the biggest factors in the battle against it. So we know what we need to do…
… we just need to do it!!
Good luck! You can do it!
