Type 2 Diabetes Harder To Treat In Kids

Yet another reason to get your kids to spend time being active… and to eat right!
Maybe getting in touch with Eli Manning's new program would be a fab idea!
It turns out that Type 2 Diabetes is harder to treat in kids and teens than it is to treat in adults.
It actually progresses FASTER at the younger ages.
The largest study to ever examine Type 2 treatment in youth wanted to see the effectiveness of different ways to manage blood sugar in teens aged 10-17. Here's the scary thing, though: almost half of all the kids involved failed to maintain a stable blood sugar level. In the four years it took to complete the study, 1 in 5 suffered major complications because of this.
This is especially terrifying because diabetes is on the rise, and can lead to heart disease, vision loss, nerve problems, amputations and kidney failure.
The best treatment is prevention, you guys. Type 2 diabetes is almost COMPLETELY avoidable, and is even supposed to be rare in kids to begin with!
Take this as a major warning! Get your kids moving!!
