Jersey Shore Not As Polluted As Once Thought

Rutgers University has just done a new study that has found that New Jersey's coastal waters are not as polluted as previously thought.

Marine scientists had been studying pollution-sensitive sea creatures on the ocean floor for the past 5 years and found the critters were healthier than they would've expected.

Michael Kennish, the study's lead investigator, said:

"Conditions were actually pretty good, pretty healthy. We just didn't find a heavily impacted environment. What we saw was typical of what you would see in a healthy community."

That's great news for all you Jersey Shore folks! Not the show, the place. LOLz!

The scientists didn't find the waters to be clean or anything, they're just nowhere near as bad as they thought they were.

So that's still good we guess.

They came to their conclusion by looking at small, bottom-dwelling creatures.

If there were clams and snails and shrimp, it meant the water was decently healthy, but if there were only sewage eating worms, then clearly the water was polluted.

They found no worms, and just healthy life.

Way to go, Rutgers! Now people can go to the Jersey Shore again!

Better get your GTL on!
