Yeah yeah, you're supposed to brush your teeth twice a day. We all know that.
Brushing your teeth too soon after consuming citrus and acidic foods can do more harm than good! We're talking soft drinks, fruit, and wine!
There's an increase in dentin loss, which is one of the layers of the teeth, when brushing within 20 minutes! 20% loss, even!
That number decreases with time — so it's recommended that you wait 30-60 minutes before starting.
So the key is to brush for a FULL two minutes… right after breakfast, and just before bedtime!
But remember, wait at least a half hour if you've gone acidic with your foods!
