Jamal Lewis, a retired NFL star who used to play for the Baltimore Ravens and even won the Super Bowl back in 2001, has filed for bankruptcy.
As far as his creditors go, Bank of America has a lien for $947,876, Mercedes Benz has a lien for about $113,000 and Chrysler has one for $15,000 just to name a few.
A lien means they are going to hold onto his property until he pays up.
As far as his assets, he has five houses, several expensive cars, a $500,000 401(k) and owns half (~$6,000,000) of Fort Rapids Indoor Waterpark in Colombus, Ohio.
He is self-employed now, making about $35,000 a month.
Since he's filed for bankruptcy, now he can keep all of his stuff and reduce and extend payments to his creditors.
Though his credit score will likely drop to the point where he won't be able to buy anything unless he pays cash.
Hope he works out his problems!
