The worst part? They don't even know about it!!
A new government report has shown that one in five people in the U.S. currently have an untreated cavity.
"Untreated tooth decay is prevalent in the U.S. It appears that we haven't been able to make any significant strides during the last decade to reduce untreated cavities."
The study showed that even though there are so many untreated cavities out there, our oral health has improved over the years.
"Oral health is an important contributor to overall health for individuals and the population. Dental caries both untreated and treated and tooth loss are key indicators of oral health and are used to monitor oral health status in the United States and internationally."
The worst part about all of this is how preventable it is. We all know we should be flossing, brushing three times a day and using a fluoride mouthwash — but we all know that doesn't always happen.
Try and cut down on soda, not only for your health but also for your teeth, and make sure to brush!!
