American Idol Champ Phillip Phillips Healthy Enough To Tour
As we previously mentioned, Phillip Phillips had some pretty serious kidney issues and almost had to drop out of American Idol!
It's a good thing he didn't or else he wouldn't have won!
His doctors told him he'd need surgery immediately after the finale or he'd be in real trouble.
So he did post-Idol press remotely and was thought to have been scheduled for surgery.
Now it seems that an alternative treatment is actually working and doctors have given him the go ahead for this summer's Idol tour.
An insider said:
[Phillips] "is being treated and doing well."
Not a lot of info is available but we're so so so glad that he's doing well.
So well that he can actually complete the 45-date Idol summer tour with this year's top 10 finalists.
A tour rep said:
"He will still be attending all the tour dates and is really looking forward to the launch on July 6."
That's so great to hear!
