Just a few short years after beating cancer, Good Morning America's Robin Roberts has just announced she has MDS.
MDS is a bone marrow disorder, and it actually stems from the treatment she got to beat her cancer.
But she wants everyone to know that she's a fighter, and she'll beat this too!
To conquer this, she'll be starting chemotherapy, which will lead to a bone marrow transplant later this year — and her doctors have told her to ignore what's there when she Googles it, because she's younger and fitter than most people who get it.
They say she'll be cured!
Unfortunately for African American women, it's hard to find a bone marrow donor. Luckily, her sister is a great match for her!
She will NOT be giving up as an anchor at GMA. She'll be strong and continue that post — but she admits that she might miss a day here and there.
We say: take all the time you NEED. We'll miss you on GMA when you're absent, but we can handle it because you're off getting healthy!
Robin, you are SO STRONG. You can do this!!
