Alcoholic Popsicles To Beat The Heat

Who wouldn't want to be taken back to their childhood while gettin' a little bit of an adult buzz on?? Ha!

Apparently the boozy treats are getting HUGE!

We're talking snow cones to milkshakes, everything is fair game in the party versions of childhood sweets!

Here's what one of the marketing managers has said:

"It's simple — adults like alcohol and people like popsicles."

The stupid thing, though, is how expensive they are. Take these for example: A blend of fruit puree and a matching mixer, then served up in a burgundy glass filled with prosseco. $16!

You CAN choose what kind of fruit pop comes with it, like watermelon and 10 Cane Rum, White Peach and Hudson Baby Bourbon, and strawberry and Grey Goose citron.

The question is, though: how do they get the alcohol to freeze??

Well, it comes down to the blend of fruit puree with added "stabilizers." (Whatever those are!)

And if you're not into the fruity/tangy taste of popsicles, try a milkshake!

Here's what one maker of those has to say:

"They may look innocent, but these things have got a punch — they can put hair on your chest. Part of the appeal is that childlike sense. You'd sit and have a milkshake with your parents and felt like you're an adult. Now that you're over 21, you can put some strength in them."

Even those are $12, sadly!

If you're looking for something less frilly, though, why not try a 'hopsicle?'

Those are a can of Tecate beer injected with syrup and lime juice, then served push-pop style complete with a popsicle stick.

So many choices! So many ridiculous ways to get drunk!
