Rob Zombie, the man who brought us such films as House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects, is going to make a hockey movie!

Wait… what??

Yup! Rob Zombie, lover of all things gross and horror, will be writing, directing and producing and a film about the Philadelphia Flyers hockey team, called Broad Street Bullies.

The film will be about the 1970's era Flyers, who were known as the Broad Street Bullies because of their incredibly physical style of playing.

One time, they played the Soviet Union's "invincible" and incredibly tough Red Army team.

The Flyers roughed them up so bad in the first period that the Russians left the ice. They only went back on to finish the game after being told they wouldn't get paid if they left.

The entire flyer's organization is on board with Zombie making the film, which he said would be sorta like Rocky meets Boogie Nights on ice.

Zombie said:

"Each character involved is more outrageous than the next. The backdrop of the turbulent year of 1974 is perfect for this 'stranger than fiction' sports tale."

We'll be really innerested to see what Rob does with the film.

We bet it'll be pretty bloody. Call it a hunch. LOLz!
