Teen Has Spear Removed From Skull
Don't you hate it when you have a splitting headache and it turns out to be a 3-foot long fishing spear?
No amount of aspirin can ever really take the edge off.
Plus, you end up having to get it removed, and that can be costly.
That's exactly what happened to a Miami teenager, who is now walking and talking just 11 days after removing a 3-foot spear from his head.
He's recovering well!
Yasser Lopez was accidentally shot in the head by a friend who was loading a spear gun during a fishing trip.
Here's what the surgeon had to say:
"It's a striking injury. It's something you don't see every day, to have a patient awake and speaking with a 3-foot spear through his head."
Apparently Yasser is EXTREMELY lucky that the spear missed major blood vessels.
They're saying he'll basically be fine, save for some clumsiness and some difficulty using his left arm and leg!
Wow!
