We knew it! We knew it all along!
Strawberries are considered a super food!
They actually contain more vitamin C than citrus fruits, so they're great for helping to ward off colds — and foods rich in vitamin C may lower the risk of cancers of the gastrointestinal tract!
Strawberries are also an antiviral, anticancer food… meaning that if you consume large amounts of strawberries, you'll probably be found to be less likely to develop all types of cancers!
It doesn't stop there, though! They don't call them super for no reason: eight medium strawberries gives you a serving that is high in fiber and potassium — things that are great for controlling blood pressure.
Also, being in potassium and low in sodium may reduce the risks of hypertension and stroke.
