As devastated as we are over the reason for her extended absence, we're thrilled to hear that so many are in talks to keep her Good Morning America seat warm for her!
Robin Roberts will sadly have to go on medical leave from the morning show in a few months, as she's seeking treatment for the blood and bone marrow disease myelodysplastic syndrome, and when she finally undergoes her bone marrow transplant, producers have compiled a list of serious talent to serve as week-long substitutes during her absence!
According to sources close to production, expect to see the likes of Diane Sawyer, Charlie Gibson, Barbara Walters, Chris Cuomo, Connie Chung, Joan Lunden and many more each appearing in lieu of anchor!
Each temp is expected to serve a week, and on each Friday, it will be announced who will be filling in next!
And while her recovery period could end up taking four months, insiders are confident that because the cancer was detected early and she's in such good shape, she could be back much sooner!
We certainly are hoping so!
Stay strong, Robin! You're in our thoughts!
