The Supreme Court Done With FCC's Janet Jackson Whining

FCC Shut up

Oh hey, imagine that!

The Supreme Court is also tired of the FCC's whining, just like everyone else!

Last week, they decided that they just didn't want to hear any more from the FCC and their appeal of the ruling for the $550,000 fine on CBS for Janet Jackson's boobie flash at the 2004 Super Bowl.

They straight up refused to hear the appeal, LOLz!

The 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals twice had thrown out the fine, so it makes sense that they'd want to just move on.

Mainly, the FCC's policy of excusing "fleeting instances" of indecent words and images miraculously changed without rhyme or reason just a month after Janet's nip slip.

The judges called it "arbitrary and capricious," which is exactly what it was.

Here's what the SC said:

"It is now clear that the brevity of an indecent broadcast – be it word or image – cannot immunize it from FCC censure. Any future `wardrobe malfunctions' will not be protected on the ground relied on by the court below."

We're pretty tired of the FCC being all up in everyone's business anyway, but we're sure this isn't going to be deterring them from making stupid court claims.

Either way, we're glad this specific mess is done.
