Nissan Leaf Will Try To Break Speed Record… In Reverse!

Nissan really believes in the Leaf, their all-electric car.
They believe in it so much, they plan on racing up a 1.16-mile hill climb… backwards!
At the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the U.K. Terry Grant, a stunt driver, will attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the fastest time going a mile in reverse.
Terry said:
"The Leaf Reverse Record isn’t going to be easy and will be very challenging. I’d prefer to do it on a nice straight and level strip of tarmac rather than on Lord March’s drive. The hill not only climbs, but is also full of twists, turns and obstacles. It’s a hugely technical test of speed and concentration. Whatever happens, I know I’m going to finish the weekend with a serious crick in my neck!"
They're trying to show that not only can all-electric cars be good for the environment, they can be fun to drive too!
The Leaf has its batteries all placed very low in the car, so it's center of gravity is low enough to keep the car from rolling during tight turns, so this record could really happen!
Best of luck to Terry!
