Cuba And The US Play Baseball Again!

A team of college baseball stars representing the US played a game against a Cuban national squad recently.
It's been 16 years since any game like this has been played!
Players and fans all stood in Cuba's Latin American Stadium and listened to both the Cuban and US national anthems.
Johnny Field, a 20-year-old college baseball outfielder in the game, said:
"This is awesome. I've never been out of the country before, so this is my first time. We've heard all the hype about how great the stadium is, and Cuba is at baseball, and it's already shown since we got here. … We're fired up to be here."
It's taken a long time to get over all the issues we've had with funding, timing, scheduling and political matters.
The USA Baseball president said:
"It wasn't for lack of trying on both people's parts. And there were probably political pressures that went on above our pay grades. I wasn't privy to those conversations. There's always been an anxiety about defections, and maybe everybody's at a better place right now."
We're so glad that we're all finally able to get along!
Leave it to baseball to bring us all together.
