The political realm has been worried and confused as to where Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. has been hiding after abruptly leaving Capital Hill last month.
Although he wants to keep the matter private, pressure from party leaders has led his camp to put out a statement explaining that Jackson is "receiving intense medical treatment at a residential treatment facility for a mood disorder."
This is the third excuse for his absence. In early June his office used one of Hollywood's favorite illnesses and blamed "exhaustion" (which is probably what spawned the rehab rumors), but then announced "physical and emotional ailments" last week.
His constituents and peers are still a little confused as to what he is really going through since a "mood disorder" can mean anything from depression to bipolar disorder. However, Jackson's family wishes the public would give him "the grace of space" and respect his privacy so he can focus on getting well.
Feel better, Jesse! We hope whatever you're going through isn't too serious and you'll be healthy enough to begin serving the people of Illinois again soon!
