A few months ago, we were saddened by the news that Junior Seau, the 43 year old former NFL linebacker, had shot himself in the chest — just a few years after his career ended.
We had heard a while back that they were going to submit some of his brain to see whether or not damage from his football career is what pushed him towards suicide, and now we're hearing they have indeed sent the samples in.
The preserved tissue was recently released to the National Institutes of Health for study, but there's no word on what exactly they're going to look for in the tests.
For his family's sake, we hope they find some answers.
