Oscar Pistorius, Double Amputee, Set For Olympics!

The last we talked about Oscar Pistorius, he was soooo close to being able to go to the Olympics.
Now he's gearing up to actually do so!
Oh, did we mention it was the full-fledged Olympics? He will be the first amputee athlete to ever compete there!
Here's what he said about when he found out:
"I think I woke up the next morning with cramps in my cheeks. I was smiling in my sleep. You also realize very quickly … it's the London Olympics and I need to perform. Very stressful."
He runs on carbon-fiber bladed prosthetic limbs, and has earned the most badass name in the history of the Olympics: BLADE RUNNER.
This is not without controversy: He is already a Paralympic gold medalist. He was even initially banned from competing against able-bodied opposition because many argued that his blades gave him an unfair advantage — really??
Here's what he says to that:
"There will always be people who will debate and there will always be a journalist willing to write an opinion and a certain angle to a story. There will always be someone who wants to create a name for himself and if he's given that platform he'll take it and argue that wet is dry and green is red. There are always those types of people.
"One of the reasons for doing the tests was proving that I'm in a sport and have the ability to run due to my own talent and hard work and sacrifices and that was important for me. Looking back at that I'm happy that we went through it."
We think this is absolutely incredible, and we can't wait to watch him!
What a historic situation!
Not only that, but he seems so humble and determined… a true Olympian!
Good luck, Oscar!
