Many people might not know that Dennis Rodman had been estranged from his dad for 42 years.
Well, following an exhibition game in the Philippines, that's no longer the case.
His dad's name is Philander Rodman Jr., and has acknowledged fathering 29 children by 16 mothers.
Apparently he was happy and surprised that his son agreed to meet him — something that Dennis had been reluctant to do (for obvious reasons).
Here's what Philander said:
"It was great. I've been trying to meet him for years. And then last night, boom, I met him. I was really, really happy and very surprised. I really, really felt good. It's the beginning of something new."
He even gave his number to Dennis, who promised to call!
Even more interesting than all of this, of course, is the fact that Philander is a 71-year-old Vietnam War veteran who operates the Rodman's Rainbow Obamaburger restaurant in northern Angeles City.
If you're confused by this, let us expand: his restaurant menu includes burgers with red, yellow and green colored buns and fries.
We're just glad they're creating a new relationship!
