Ever since the Freeh report came out and claimed that a series of emails stood as evidence that Joe Paterno covered up Jerry Sandusky's sexually abusive actions, people have been calling for the removal of a statue.
Several students have set up camp (literally a tent) next to the statue in an attempt to protect it from vandals.
A plane flew overhead one day with a banner that read:
"Take the statue down or we will."
This angered students and drove them to the statue's aid.
University police said they can't sleep at the statue though it is okay to set up a tent and stay up all night.
Penn State's President said no decision has been made yet as to whether or not the statue will be taken down.
Seems like a simple matter to us.
Do you want a statue of a man who protected a serial pedophile on your campus or not?
