In a survey of over 26,000 people, almost 60% of them reported feeling tired during the day or having trouble falling or staying asleep.
Many of the people also said that they had also tried an over-the-counter sleep aid before.
Just follow these easy steps and you should hopefully see an improvement in your sleep. (Unless you have a sleep disorder, then these may only slightly help. They're still better than nothing.)
Exercise during the day. (Your core body temp has to lower to sleep, and it dips lower after exercise. Just don't workout too close to bed time or your core temp might still be amped up.)
Unwind for 30 minutes before bed in a low light environment. (Bright light from a TV can screw up your circadian rhythms.)
Go to bed the same time every night. (Habit forming is also important for the body's circadian rhythms.)
Have sex. (Hormone releases can cause sleepiness.)
Get a comfy mattress and kick animals off it. (When a pet wakes up at night, you tend to as well.)
So just follow those simple tips and you should be sleeping better!
