Smashburger, a fast-food burger joint, was picked by Forbes last year as America's most promising company.
The burger chain is launching its first major marketing campaign and gunning for the big dog: In-N-Out.
Smashburger plans on opening up 40 to 60 new locations in the Los Angeles area over the next seven years.
Even though the area is saturated with burger joints (like McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, Carl's Jr., Jack In The Box, In-N-Out, Fuku Burger, Umami Burger, Fatburger, Astroburger, etc.) Smashburger is thought to be able to stand a fighting chance.
That's because their burgers are smashed, seared and seasoned to order. Their whole menu is highly customizable, with dozens of topping and sauces.
We're anxious to try a Smashburger and see how they compare to In-N-Out.
Could be a nice change of pace.
