NBC Asks Whats Better: The Gold Or The Biebs?

NBC Fail

We are SO glad we have NBC covering the Olympics in all the best ways.

If they aren't straight up spoiling results, they're cutting into events with lame interviews. If they aren't doing that, you bet your azz they're asking questions like:

"What's better: Gold medals or a shout-out from the Biebs?"

Obviously, regardless of whether or not Justin has been super sweet about tweeting his congratulations (he has!), the answer is and always will be the gold medal.

Why?

Oh we don't know, maybe because it was the first gold medal in gymnastics for the American women since the 1996, when the Magnificent Seven captured the top spot with an amazing vault from an injured Kerri Strug… or maybe it's because it's the freakin' Olympics!

But that didn't stop NBC from blogging the question anyway:

"If you're 17 years old, what feels better — winning an Olympic gold medal? Or receiving a personal shout-out from Justin Bieber?"

The gold. Stop asking. You're pretty much representing American media at the Olympics, and this is what you do??

All of this, added to all the other short comings (like failing to show the tragic and symbolic dedication to the victims of London's 7/7 bombings during the Olympics' Opening Ceremonies, instead showing an interview with Ryan Seacrest and Michael Phelps) has led the internet to a logical place: the hashtag #NBCFail.

We think you should be trying harder, NBC.

Listen to your audience.
