Jordyn Wieber's Mom 'Disappointed' Over All-Around Failure
One of the most heartbreaking moments of the entire Olympics was when American gymnast Jordyn Wieber failed to qualify for the all-around competition.
Jordyn finished 4th in the qualifier. Yet she wasn't allowed to compete because her two teammates Gabby Douglas and Aly Raisman scored higher than her.
There's a rule that says only two people from each country could compete.
So she was out. Even through she scored better than 21 of the women who got to compete.
Her mother, Rita, was obviously disappointed:
"That's just the way it worked out. She got to be here, she won a gold medal and I'm sure she's just going to focus on that.
I'm always going to be disappointed. I'm never going to be able to say, 'Oh, it was no big deal.' But there's really no sense carrying a grudge or being bitter or anything like that. I just feel like things happen for a reason. I just have a strong faith that is true."
We feel so bad for Jordyn and her whole family but that team gold has got to help keep her warm at night!
