Bob Hoskins was a talented actor from such ahmayzing movies as Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Hook (he played Smee).

Sadly, he's just been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and has announced he'll be retiring from acting.

His rep said:

"He wishes to thank all the great and brilliant people he has worked with over the years, and all of his fans who have supported him during a wonderful career. Bob is now looking forward to his retirement with his family and would greatly appreciate that his privacy be respected at this time."

They didn't mention anything about his current condition, which is probably not terrible, seeing as how he was just recently in Snow White and the Huntsman.

But Parkinson's is degenerative, so hopefully he is getting the treatment he needs so he can live a long, full life.

We're sorry about the diagnosis, Bob. We hope you enjoy your retirement!
